Merry Xmas
We know how hard all of our members have worked during the past three years to ensure clients have continued to feel valued during a very difficult time for everyone. We can only say ‘thank you’ for all of the dedication which you’ve provided in that time.
Covid is, of course, an ongoing concern for a large number of people. The virus is still there and certainly seems to be for the foreseeable future.
Equally, lockdowns seem to be currently an event consigned to the recent past. It’s a phenonium which is reflected in the length of the Christmas queues in shops and car parks.
In short, things seem to be back to normal and it could be the first ‘proper’ festive season we’ve seen in quite a while.
A couple of weeks ago, I saw carol singers for the first time in a long time and it created a wonderful warm sense that we had ‘returned’ to a sense of normality.
Some people will perhaps face a struggle with events as their ‘stress buckets’ may have been overloaded during the pandemic. It’s useful to be able to remind people how you can help them in feeling more relaxed when they are out and about.
Equally, maintaining all of the precautions undertaken during the pandemic is, of course, sensible.
Making sure you have a plentiful supply of appropriate soap and disposable towels not only makes for a pleasant atmosphere but it’ll help to ward off those winter bugs!
‘Taking stock’
As we head towards the end of 2022, a lot of people will quietly be ‘taking stock’ of the year and the direction they plan to take over the course of the next 12 months.
As such, it can now be a good time to remind people about the difference your practice can make for them – both for their immediate and future selves.
Members sometimes find that providing dates for their practice’s re-opening in the New Year can provide a real incentive for people looking to start work on those all important resolutions.
Using your website or social media platforms to remind people about their New Year Day promises can be hugely beneficial.
Posts can be centred around key areas for resolution, such as stopping smoking, finding that dream job or weight management. All can prove to be popular subjects for the New Year. Afterall, we can help someone through each of these scenarios.
Perhaps you might consider holding an open day? Inviting potential clients into your practice can be a great way to introduce yourself and explain what it is that you do – and how you can do it!
Chatting about the Miracle Question, explaining how the brain works and what trance is (and isn’t) can be useful in encouraging people along to a free initial consultation.
The New Year also heralds a chance to spring clean your practice area. It’s always lovely to hear about members putting aside a day or two to spruce up their settings ahead of seeing clients. It can make a real difference for someone’s first impression of your business.
It may sound silly to talk about feather dusters, toilet blocks, toilet cleaner, sponges, cleaning sprays, air fresheners and polish in a monthly newsletter – but all of them are small items which can create a big difference to the perception of a business. And you can buy all of the above for less than £10.
Using these types of products shows you are investing not just in what you do but also in the wellbeing of your client.
Houseplants are also shown to have a colossal benefit on our mental wellbeing and are proven to be good at ‘cleaning’ the air in the workplace environment – peace lilies are meant to be particularly good!
Do you need to fill empty shelves or table space? Well, discount shops are good at providing a range of brand new products which are designed to look good in any corporate or homely setting. Four or five small mantlepiece items can fill up the space and provide a talking point for you.
It may sound like ‘set dressing’ but think about the number of times you’ve been into empty rooms and the sensation of emptiness which can be associated with them.
We’re not looking to create clutter (far from it) but we are aiming to provide people with a sense of comfort which can be created with the right ambience.
We hope all of you have put aside a bit of R&R time over the next few weeks to allow yourself a chance to unwind so that you can enter 2023 feeling fresh and rejuvenated!
We look forward to updating you with our future plans in the New Year.
